I like it.

I built a cab a years ago and used an Ipac. You can also get a controller for a mouse and get a trackball. I believe RetroPie has a tutorial on getting the Ipac to work.

Basically, the 3.5 inch screens that use the GPIO are laggy at best with RetroPie. It can be done, but you will have to play with the setting to get it to work half decent. Are you running 4.2? SSH has been disabled by default with retro pie 4.2.
