Re: thank you Micro Center
So is it 'your mileage may vary' that they let you buy one of each for $5, or is that standard practice?
Also, good tip about the pickup/checkout. I'm not in the US, so I'm hoping to get a buddy to scoop a few for me, but only if it isn't going to be a massive hassle.

Re: thank you Micro Center
Can you (or someone else) clarify: Micro Center will let you buy one Zero v1.3 and one Zero W for $5 each in store? Because most on-line shops will only let you buy one Zero, of any kind - if you add a v1.3 to your cart, you can't add a W, and vice versa.

Re: MintyPi Keyboard?
The circuitry for the screen would be the same. The safe shutdown circuitry could be the same, even. You're just mashing the basic keyboard circuit design into the MintyPi form factor. So instead of having ^V<> ABXYLR start and select, you'd have (up to) 36 keyboard buttons wired into a 'grid' 6 row...

Re: MintyPi Keyboard?
If you're thinking about making a mini laptop or similar, it wouldn't be impossible. You'd need to design your own PCB, but adding a bunch of button contacts would be relatively straightforward; you could scavenge a keyboard and membrane contacts from an old Blackberry, or DIY something. You're basi...

That's what I'd guess too - a piece of perfboard/protoboard/pcb that's being used as an anchor to screw into.

Re: Explain to me emulation performance on the Pi Zero.
Yes, those systems will generally perform fine on the PiZero, with two small caveats: SNES games that used the SuperFX chip, won't work - so StarFox and Super Mario World 2 would be out. GBA games will work fine, *BUT*, you need to install the BIOS file for that system when you're setting up your Pi...

Re: Best 3D modeling software? (perf. for Mac)
You will need a slicer if you're printing parts on your own FDM printer. If you're using a different technology (SLA/DLP, or CNC) you would need different software. If you're having someone else print your parts, you won't need a slicer at all - they'd do that for you. As for recommendations, Slic3r...

Re: Custom resin casting parts
I really doubt there would be much interest in a $100 resin SNES case. Because it will easily cost $100 to produce (silicone + resin + labour). But hey, if you feel like there'd be a lot of interest, you're welcome to try to market it yourself - the supplies are easy to find, and it's a fairly simpl...
