Flipped the switch on the back of the board marked USB and was able to upload ROMs just fine.
Made sure to switch it back so the sound could work and the sound worked fine.
Everything turned out perfectly, thanks for the great board Kite!

Thanks Kite, feeling dumb, literally spent hours on the forum trying to find an answer and it was staring me right in the face on the FAQ. must've glanced over it 30 times.... will try tonight and share results. as for the sound, I will investigate further after uploading some roms..
