Found the source of the problem. I flashed a new sd card with a fresh installation of retropie. While making all sort of settings needed to run, i noticed that the usb sound card stopped working at boot AFTER activating the keyboard function for the buttons: http://sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=...

Of course I did, as stated in the guide. The issue is that the card is not recognised when the system boots, but I have to plug in and out
