Re: First GBZ. Newbie
What @rodocop said. • Kite Circuit Sword from his thread. • If getting a CS lite you’ll need a Raspberry Pi Zero too - I recommend a Zero W (with WiFi). • Gameboy DMG shell. • DMG buttons (either 2 sets or some sellers have gbz, gameboy zero, packs with 4 buttons). • DMG silicons (as with the button...

Re: Alternatives to vhb and kapton tape.
Be careful with superglue - if you’re thinking of using it around the screen it can cause hazing on the screen itself from the fumes.

Re: Inserts behind buttons for tactile feedback?
I think it depends on how you mount the buttons. With a well designed button well they should match the feel of the original A & B buttons, assuming you’re using the same buttons and silicons. I fiddled with button mounts and ended up making them deeper so that the buttons sat more flush with the ba...

Re: HELP!! no emulators on my image? what do i do?!
It’s how I always transfer files. I made a bit of a mistake in my earlier post though - it should be \\RETROPIE in the file browser address bar on a windows pc. smb://retropie is for Mac (I use both).

Re: Gameboy pocket Bluetooth
though would it be alot of soldering? Depends on how complicated you want to get. For me I used a hardwired usb controller, so I just had to find the live and ground traces on the pcb to solder to for each button - the pcb had a shared ground if I remember rightly, so it’s 8 buttons on a gameboy (4...

You can’t just put the sd card in your pc, Linux on the pi and windows on the pc use a different file structure - your pc can’t see the folders. Connect your pi to your WiFi, and your pc to the same WiFi. With both switched on open the file browser on your pc and in the address bar type //RETROPIE a...

Re: Gameboy pocket Bluetooth
I did something similar, stripping the insides out of a usb nes controller and putting them inside a dmg. I bought a simple button board from Deadpan robot and soldered the contacts from the nes controller pcb to the dmg button pcb then crammed it all inside the shell. Still soldering though 😕 I kno...

Re: Adding Roms
Did you restart Emulationstation after transferring the roms? And they’re in the right folders, right? .gb roms go in the gb folder, inside the roms folder etc.

Re: How to tell battery polarity?
Thought this would be covered, but I saw some warnings on checking polarity of the connections before using a battery... How does one know? Is it printed on this back? Is it written against the PCB? Thanks for the assistance! IMG_20200804_151334.jpg Red is live + / black is negative - It’s also wri...
