Re: BadBert's GBZ Build

Any close by electronic shop has basics like capacitors, just make sure to ask for the Dutch name (condensator). I hope you get one of the tft versions I got, as both are easy to mod for 5v. I skipped the cartridge mod entirely, was already more than difficult enough to do the rest xD i'm just using...

Re: Using phone battery - is it possible?

I used the battery from my broken Samsung Galaxy s4. 3.8 v was no problem. I soldered wires onto mine without problems too. Plus and minus were easy to find with volt meter. It has 2600 mah and that was great too (better than 2000 from adafruit) Only problem: it did not fit in the Gameboy because of...

Re: BadBert's GBZ Build

If you're still looking for a screen, amazon uk ships to the netherlands, and since the brexit the pound is low, so the screens are cheaper :D I ordered this screen twice (i broke the first one  ): https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0056WJP1M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I got...

Re: What are the pins on the original volume wheel?

After a bunch of measuring i found out the pins. Then i started looking for a picture of the wheel to show here, and i came across this post on this very forum, which already contains the full pin layout  http://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=270&hilit=diagram&start=40#p5446 Going to...

Re: Want to build the GB Zero - where to get parts in germany?

Sine you're German: there's a facebook community for the zero project. It's entirely in German, and people there tend to buy parts in bulk (like screens and custom pcbs) to save on shipping, then resell to other people in Germany.

Look up "Raspberry ZeroBOY Projekt" on Facebook.

Re: usb hub stops working when soldered to the pi zero

Well, the problem solved itself, and i have no idea why. I did not do anything but stare at it for five minutes, trying to find out where i went wrong. In the end i pressed the keyboard buttons again, and for no reason, they now worked. I immediately applied hot glue over all connections inv...

usb hub stops working when soldered to the pi zero

I'm experiencing very weird problems with the usb hub. I have a hub with keyboard and wifi dongle attached. When i connected the hub through the micro usb port on the pi zero, all devices worked perfectly. After i cut the cable on the hub, and soldered the wires to the pads directly, the lights on t...

Re: Let's talk batteries.

I'm planning to try a 2600 mah 3.8V battery from my old Samsung Phone (that died), but I'm not sure if the extra 0.1V will be a problem. The light on the powerboost board comes on just fine, but during the test the battery was not charging. Could have something to do with the fact that it was comple...

Re: What are the pins on the original volume wheel?

It should be easy enough to tell which one is ground, and from there you can test continuity between the other 4 to find the ones that go together. Thanks for that link! Sadly, even with the pictures of what the insides look like, i don't have a clue how to determine which one is the ground or othe...
