Re: usb hub stops working when soldered to the pi zero

This is really weird. I came here because I have the same problem.
Works using microusb, but not when soldered to pp22/23. I did a continuity check and microusb ends up at the same pads (pp22/23). This makes absolutely no sense to me. And nothing is shorted either.

Re: PSA: do not use goo-gone on your GB Case

Thanks for the tip. I also had some similar experience yesterday when i wanted to paint my screen surround black with a permanent marker. I used masking tape but it bled through the tape and got to the case, around the whole screen :x I tried various of options trying to get the marker off with no l...

Re: NES - "Evercard"

I think the price of the everdrive is a pretty good deal. You get to play about every single game made for the system, and it's about the same price as a couple of new games these days.

Re: Collecting information on alternative displays - please contribute

I have this screen from she-love https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0045IIZKU/ When selecting a game in retropie, the text is totally unreadable. I don't really notice it in games. Is there any adjustment that can be made to make it sharper, or is this it's limit? I can forget about putting all game...

Re: Using phone battery - is it possible?

i would be more concerned with what mah that is, its no good using that if your pi's gonna last 10 mins or something It's 2100 mah, should last longer than adafruit's 2000mah then. I used the battery from my broken Samsung Galaxy s4. 3.8 v was no problem. I soldered wires onto mine without problems...

Re: Using phone battery - is it possible?

Thanks, do you know which pads are positive and negative terminals? No, that varies from battery to battery and manufacturer to manufacturer. But you should be able to measure it with a DMM. Or look for the pinouts via the battery's label. Edit: Be aware that cell phone batteries have no real prote...

Re: Using phone battery - is it possible?

Yes, they would work, but it can be dangerous to solder onto those pads. So you would need to build something that creates a connection. Or you accept the risk of an exploding battery and solder it onto those pads. Those additional 2 pads are usually for temperature and monitoring the battery healt...

Using phone battery - is it possible?

Is it possible to use a phone battery with the powerboost? I have tons of old phones lying around, would be awesome if the batteries could be used. And they're pretty small. This one for example 20160707_114624.jpg However, it is 3.8V as opposed to 3.7V and has 4 pads for connections. Would this work?
