Re: USB sound working, but white noise?

Removing the ground bridge from the amp reduced the problem, and removing the amp eliminated it. The problem now is speaker volume, which is really low, although the headphone jack is fine. Has anyone found a good guide for making sure that volume issues aren’t software related? I suppose I could al...

Re: USB sound working, but white noise?

hmm, wiring seems fine, only suggestions I can give are (not sure if they will even make a difference): Take the ground from the sound card (in your pics it should be the one to the left of your yellow wire, double check that) and run it to A-, instead of the bridge (Not sure if it will make a diff...

Re: USB sound working, but white noise?

Here is the promised wiring diagram. If you can't tell, this IS my first rodeo: https://i.imgur.com/VPGHyjB.png I've left out the pot and headphone jack because the issue started before adding those components (and therefore not likely being created by them) and because I'm almost completely certain...

Re: USB sound working, but white noise?

I’m pretty sure that the distortion must be coming in from the amp or speaker. I tested using my PC sound system through the USB audio jack when I was first connecting the USB to the Pi and had no distortion. I will be happy to upload a wiring diagram when I get a moment to sketch one out. As it sta...

USB sound working, but white noise?

I'm getting a lot of background white noise using a Sabrent USB audio device and the Adafruit 2.5W amp for mono sound. Everything is working, but I'm still getting a buzzing sound. It's less distracting when sound is playing, but very apparent when not (especially in the headphones). My power and gr...

Re: No audio from GPIO18. Please help me troubleshoot!

Thanks for the continued support, everyone. After I had enough of fooling around with the GPIO option, I went with USB audio. I've been fiddling with it this weekend and finally have my full audio solution wired and working, including the potentiometer and headphone jack! I did try removing the HDMI...

Re: No audio from GPIO18. Please help me troubleshoot!

Thanks for the responses. I've removed the LPF and headphone jack, but neither produced any change. I've also manipulated the screw on the amp, but still no change other than some static as I turn and a little bleed over from radio frequencies. I'm tempted to just move over to USB audio, but I feel ...

No audio from GPIO18. Please help me troubleshoot!

I'm trying to get the audio working on my GBZ and am having issues. I'm running sound from GPIO18 through a LPF build as suggested, then into the Adafruit 2.5W Amp, through the original Game Boy headphone jack and finally to a new speaker (picture below). When I boot up the Pi, I don't get any game ...

Re: [SOLVED] Powerboost - no external power?

Once again, I wandered into my own solution. It seems that somehow there was a short in my micro usb breakout board that disappeared as soon as I excavated it from the gallon of hot glue I had placed on it. That short was preventing either charging option from functioning, but not the battery power ...

[SOLVED] Powerboost - no external power?

I've wired up my Powerboost and it appears everything works except for the external power. Hooking up the battery makes the light come on, flipping the switch makes it turn off and on as expected, but when I plug it in, I get nothing. This is the case whether I'm using the breakout board or the buil...
