Re: Retro FC "168 in 1" Mod for Raspberry Pi Zero
I actually just finished building a unit using this shell and a pi zero w. In my opinion it isn't worth $20 for just the shell and the button pad. The screen isn't usable unless you find a pinout on the datasheet for it. The buttons and dpad are super mushy, they use really low quality silicone pads...

Re: Looking for a 54 pin 0.5mm fpc breakout board
I use a very clean fine tip, flux, and very bright light. You can also use solder paste and a hot air solder. You can also just flux it and use a solder blob drag it across all the pins and clean up with solder wick or a clean solder tip.

Re: Looking for a 54 pin 0.5mm fpc breakout board
It works fine with that voltage. The LSB of the LCD is tied to the MSB so you get true black/white... I've had 24 bit running and can't honestly tell the difference. You also have some GPIO left over to do 'other stuff' with. https://i.imgur.com/ydowA37.jpg?1 Hey sorry to bother you again but I was...

Re: Looking for a 54 pin 0.5mm fpc breakout board
Feel free to make a copy my 18-bit DPI Board: Get the eagle schematic/board here: https://github.com/mattc74/DPI-Pi You can get a few of these printed at dirtypcbs.com and either just use as a breakout or populate for a fixed brightness Backlight. :D OMG thx so much for that, I've been trying to de...

Re: Composite vs DPI
Lol i build alot of gundam models so putty work and sanding is not too bad. I wish i was able to design pcbs like you guys. I just used a forstner bit to drill out a large hole where the buttons are on the sp shell and 3D printed something to add X Y buttons using 3ds buttons. I was reading through ...

Re: Composite vs DPI
I dont have that grey SP anymore but what I originally did to fit a composite screen in there was, I 3D printed a bracket to increase the depth slightly and carefully cut out the hinge and glue it to the new back cover with the bracket. If you look in this pic the back plate is slightly thicker, pre...

Re: Composite vs DPI
Here is the "driver" (note it won't exactly look like this or mount this way, it's just a prototype): http://i.imgur.com/XYWQKtD.jpg @Kite this is what I was talking about. Would you be selling something like this in the future? The pcb sticking outside might have an advantage of soldering them lik...
