I just got the same screen myself yesterday after ruining my first screen a few months ago. My one came with a manual saying it was rated between 6 and 24 volt. I plugged into a power supply I have that outputs 5.5 volt anyway. Successfully power the Pi0w and screen without any modification.

I'm not confident enough with my soldering to solder to the pin. I'm waiting on a battery and PSU. I think I'll try and do a more solid solder once I have that and see what the picture is like. As it stands the flickering stops after a few minutes. If that doesn't work I'll remove the IC like the wi...

Cool. I wasn't sure what was causing the flickering. It did stop flickering after a few minutes and I wasn't sure if it was a loose connection. Did you remove the IC completely like Wiki suggests?
