3DS Button Dimensions?

Anybody have some loose buttons and a set of calipers to take some measurements? I'm hoping to do some design work while waiting 6-8 weeks for delivery. ;) Specifically looking for these: http://i.imgur.com/NTdHWXp.jpg A= Overall thickness of D-pad B= Thickness of the circlular tab on the bottom of ...

Re: ICMF's Pi Zero in a custom case.

Couldn't leave well enough alone... :) So I decided to try shifting the battery off to the side instead of the central mount. Unfortunately, this will throw off the balance, since a battery is way heavier than a Pi, but realistically, it's about 100g, so it's not exactly cumbersome. I couldn't actua...

Re: Uses for two sets of should buttons?

Hotkeys? IIRC Select + L2/R2 let you load and save games. Or you could add custom hotkeys in Retropie. Change exit from Start+Select to L2+R2? A bunch of games actually use Start/Select as a shortcut, but Retropie has it as 'exit emulator' as a default, which is kind of annoying. If you want to use ...

Re: Compact and affordable 3d printer Kickstarter

That's a tiny build volume, too. Also, individual components cost money. In order to build a printer for $50 - even if they're building them for free, with no profit and not charging for their own time - you've got to use the absolute cheapest, lowest cost, lowest quality components you can possibly...

Screwing around in Solidworks...

It really *would* make life easier if I just shift the battery to the lower corner. Hmmmm.... (outline in blue)
Wonder how un-balanced it would feel...Show

The 3DS buttons are also quite a bit shallower than the DS Lite ones.
Do you have dimensions of the buttons? I'd planned to use 3DS buttons on my build... now I'm worried they may not fit. I didn't actually bother to measure the depth (didn't really want to disassemble my 3DS  )

3D printed. Either SLA on a Form2, or SLS in nylon at Shapeways. A Form2 would produce a cleaner, smoother print; Shapeways would be more robust... Decisions, decisions. :(

And I'm planning on releasing the files.

Re: ICMF's Pi Zero in a custom case.

Power has become the bane of my existence. I want: a large capacity battery; that's fairly centred (for balance); with the Pi Zero mounted vertically (so the SD sticks out the top); while being as thin as possible. And trying to meet all four of those requirements has been a nightmare. Ironically, t...

ICMF's Pi Zero in a custom case.

I should probably start my own thread, rather than continue to hijack someone else's. I'm building a Pi Zero, but don't really like the Gameboy form factor. First and foremost, I wanted a bigger screen, but the ergonomics aren't great either, and they only get worse when trying to add more but...

Re: Alternative Battery sources

Since I've been researching power banks for my build, a couple of thoughts: If you want to keep the board, you need to make sure it can do passthrough (draw an input charge while outputting charge to the device). A lot of power banks don't; they cut output as soon as the input gets plugged in. If it...
