Re: Game Boy Zero case CAD files

Ok, i've downloaded and opened the sketchup file and it's just 10 time smaller than the one i converted lol (file size 6Mb compared to 66 from mine)... The orbit tool allows me to play smoothly around the model ! I am very glad to hear that! :) So it was a conversion issue due to the import plugin ...

Re: Game Boy Zero case CAD files

Okay, I've added a download for a SketchUp file to the first post. Maybe that will create less problems. The mail from Autodesk with it came actually pretty fast, barely took ten minutes.

I am looking forward to that retail box! :)

Re: Game Boy Zero case CAD files

First thing that comes to my mind is : wow, the design is really heavy, my super laptop i7 based with 16Gigs RAM is struggling like never just to rotate the design... i will take a look if this is not a drawing / GPU acceleration issue. If you don't have any other problems with SketchUp my guess is...

Re: Game Boy Zero case CAD files

I have edited the first post with two pictures of the changes on the model and download links. The model now has two small cuts in the battery slot and pins for the rubber buttons. I also suppressed the counterbores and added a tiny bit of space between the parts for hopefully easier assembly. Downl...

Re: Game Boy Zero case CAD files

That's a fun idea, but I think that might be quite expensive – unless you order half a million parts or something like that. IIRC such molds are made from thick metal blocks (two per model part) that need to be carved out so that they fit each other perfectly with the space for the model in between ...

Re: Game Boy Zero case CAD files

Thanks for the compliments, guys. :) I'll try to find some time this weekend to finish the model (aaand I just realized that I forgot the little pins that hold the silicone under the buttons). Is there anything else you'd like to see in the model? I think at least some holes for cables in the batter...

Game Boy Zero case CAD files

Hi everyone - I am not actually sure where to post this, but I hope this subforum is okay. A couple of weeks ago I figured it would be fun to try my hand at CAD software. While I use 3D software almost daily I never really had a try at creating models for 3D printing or CNC. So to learn a software a...

Re: Notifications won´t work?

Sorry for pushing such an old thread, but I still have the problem of not getting notified in case of PMs. Did you ever get the chance to test your fix?
