Re: tinkerBOY Controller v3.0 Prototype #1

Could you modify the d-pad contacts to match the original GB/NES/SNES controllers? :) See the bottom of this post for a comparison and explanation:

Stuck pixels on 640x480 LCD screen

Hi Kite, I'm just getting around to doing my CS build and noticed that the 640x480 LCD screen that came with the order has 5 stuck pixels. 3 are noticeable but 2 aren't that bad (in fact I didn't notice the other 2 until after I opened the photos in Paint!). I know these screens are expensive for ev...

Re: DPI Adapter prototype

So I've been working on your first setup for 24-bit with just the first adapter but it takes the GPIO pins that are used for sound that I would normally wire up to my Helder board. I notice in this one you have a pi zero instead of the 3, I know you said this is just for testing but in my scenario ...

Re: Wiring PRS Tech Board SD-Cart Reader

This is the correct wiring. It matches mine -- I used the same adapter in an SAIO build also with a PRS card reader.

Re: DPI Adapter prototype

Nice work! This will take many custom builds to the next level.

If possible, please support using a wheel pot to adjust LCD brightness ala OG DMG :)

Re: RPi3 device tree hacking and power consumption

Welp, this appears to be uncharted territory so I've settled on just using the dt overlay to disable onboard bluetooth/wifi, in addition to disabling all but 1 CPU core and underclocking the CPU. The Cortex A53 chip doesn't need to run at full tilt to play SNES/16-bit games. If that's still not enou...

RPi3 device tree hacking and power consumption

I was thinking of using a Pi 3 in my next build but was concerned about power consumption. I know the CM3 uses the same SoC so that got me thinking if it'd be possible to lower the the power consumption on the Pi 3 by disabling unused hardware in the device tree. Does anyone have experience hacking ...

Re: Arduino code selector for Kites SAIO

Very cool! I was able to get the SCUMM games workings (Monkey Island 1 & 2) as well as other DOS games (Wolfenstein 3D, Discworld) using DOSBox. I remapped the buttons on the SAIO to mouse/keyboard inputs using a program called joymap (version 0.4.1). Each game has a custom run script in roms/pc (e....
