Re: Safe shutdown needed?

As for do you need one? That is probably subjective, if you have young children or peeps that are not tech savvy it is probably best to have one, if it just for you and you're aware you shouldn't just kill power to the pi over and over you can probably get away without using one. Camble has a great ...

Re: Game Boy Color Zero using Custom Parts, (Almost) No Glue

Very nice! I'm quite impressed you fit a 4000ma battery in there, I've got a GBC common ground board from Erik and it's on my to build list, I was poking around Ebay for batteries like the one that just came with my Pocket PiFE kit.

Retroflag GPi-Case

First my Pocket PiFE comes in, then Amazon kindly delivers this guy to me, solid weekend. The only real issue I ran into were the AA batteries, and it took me a while to sort out that they indeed the issue. The only 3 AA batteries I had in the drawer had been there for who knows how long and had app...

Re: First Build

I've actually been considering the Pi3 since the day my zero arrived. Would the B+ be the best of the options? I don't really need all the usb ports that the B+ offers, but the ram is certainly more attractive. A Pi3B+ build is on my list to attempt at some point, there are a few here if you dig ar...

Re: First Build

Looks like you've got your parts all picked out and well on your way. The only suggestion I might make would be to consider a Pi3 A+ (or B/B+ if you want to do the desoldering to remove bits). I love my Gameboy Zero and Freeplay Zero, but almost always find myself grabbing either my Freeplay CM3 or ...

Re: [ PRE ORDER ] Gameboy Zero PocketPi FE

My order was shipped this last batch, Order #1928. It was a full kit in Classic DMG, for those keeping track. Shipping notification and tracking received, coming through Royal Mail and AusPost as I'm in Australia. Same for me, USA here and it looks like Royal Mail started shipping the package Monda...

Re: Protective screen necessary?

I've got small kiddos in the house so for me I'd say yes, they can be had for as little as $5 so I don't worry so much about having a couple spares on hand should one get badly scratched or even cracked.

Methinks there might be some desoldering in your future. Fingers crossed!
Hoping not but yea I'm starting to think that might be the case too. Waiting to hear back from Kite on if i can solder a power source to the pi itself just as a test.
