daddelkischde AIO

Edit: The pre-sale has started! Check this post for details. A few months ago I showed you our daddelkischde all-in-one board . Features: - buttons are connected to shift registers, behave like an SNES controller (driver: gamecon_gpio_rpi) and use only three pins on the Pi - PCB and STL for shoulde...

Re: Change 3.5" HDMI display boot logo

Is the type (SKYxxx...) listed on the Github site?

A few days ago I had a panel from 2018 with the number SKY035S13E-180. It is not yet supported, but I am working on it and will update the project site.

Change 3.5" HDMI display boot logo

I am using the 3.5" HDMI display from KeDei for my Game Boy Zeros. It has always annoyed me that it boots with a blue screen and the manufacturer's logo: KeDei boot logo The board contains a Realtek RTD2662 display controller. I found some firmwares and source code for this controller on the net and...

Re: [GUIDE] 3.5 inch HDMI Display - high energy usage

There is a great guide from ZeroBoy about how to modify the display to fit into the original Game Boy case: https://www.zeroboy.eu/3-5-hdmi-touch-tft/ . It's in German but even if you don't understand the text, the pictures will help a lot. The display is quite fragile and you need to handle it care...

GND can be connected to any of the original pin 1's where the DS1117 were, 5V to any pin 3:

Re: [GUIDE] 3.5 inch HDMI Display - high energy usage

I am using the Kedei HDMI display and have been experimenting with its power supply. It has the DS1117 as well, but three times: one for 1.8V and two for 3.3V. The 1.8V is for the central display controller RTD2660. One of the 3.3V is for the LCD and it's backlight. The other one seems to supply the...

Re: daddelkischde AIO PCB

@ekilla You're right, I could have used another HDMI plug. But we had the flat ones here already so I used one of them ;) If they run out I will switch to the 90° version. @rodocop One could use an RGB LED in the DC port and display all three states with it. There are never two or more LEDs on at th...

Re: daddelkischde AIO PCB

Thanks for your feedback! I just noted that I had a typo in the estimated price, it's 50 €, not 40. @rodocop We experimented with the position of the shoulder buttons. I had them even closer together on my first case (the black one): 1.jpg The closeup photo in my first post of the shoulder button PC...

daddelkischde AIO PCB

Today I'd like to show you my first Game Boy Zero which I built with a PCB my friend Chris designed (and I reviewed): daddelkischde. The name is German in a southern dialect and not easy to translate. "Play box" could fit :geek: When Chris showed me some Game Boy Zeros last October on the net, I was...
