Re: Build Log: First Time Builder

if you're doing a an actual teensy, your best bet is to follow wermy's guide. if i recall correctly, it can be tricky getting the arduino ide to work with it. tinkerboy's guide uses a pro micro so i'm not sure it'll work on a teensy. the buttons are already mapped in his code sample. Actually, it s...

Re: Build Log: First Time Builder

In the meantime, I'm thinking of setting up the pi zero ready for the build. I'm guessing I will need to configure the controller part of retropie to match the keyboard strokes the pi teensy will be configured with. I am going to use Wermy's teensy programing. Does anyone know where I can find the ...

Re: Modding a 5" lcd to 5V?

Did you check the composite screens list to see if the controller board has a known 5V mod? https://www.sudomod.com/wiki/index.php/GBZ_Screen Otherwise, if you have a voltmeter, you could carefully check the pins of any 8-pin chips on the board to see if it's 5V. Usually it's one of the middle pins,...

Re: Gameboy DMG Screws Query

The only difference between m2 6mm and m2 8mm is that the one is 2mm longer than the other. If it's not wide enough to grip properly, you probably need m2.5 or m3.

Re: Very New Questions

Just got caught up on this thread. Thanks for all the mentions, @infinitLoop! @kschmidt0303 Using a composite screen is definitely the easiest way to go, as it only requires 3 wires: +5v, GND and signal. With most composite screens pulled from backup cameras, you need to modify them to use 5V instea...

Re: GameBoy RR (Rolls Royce)

Just got my shell from Boxy Pixel last Friday. A little heavier than I expected, but looks amazing. Still waiting on the 640x480 screen and then I'll piece it together.

Re: Aluminum Case

Final picture showing back buttons. This was perhaps the easiest build to put together. Everything just screws together and the only place I put hot-glue was to hold the speaker in place. It looks like there's going to be something to hold the speaker in place, but I didn't receive that with my pur...
