Re: battery

If anyone else is having issues getting some batteries, this selling is offering 2-packs for a pretty decent price and even ships to European countries.

Edited: The link was for this thread instead of the ebay seller. My bad. Correct link shows now. :)

Re: Tip: turn your tactile switches the right way

Not bad advice really. I'm still building mine, but I opted to forgo shorting issues and took a few precautions. 1. I lined the inside edge of the base with electrical tape. I did this after drilling the holes needed. The tape fit perfectly between the bottom of the tin and the upper edge. I then po...

Re: Odd or interesting mint tins

I'm loving that ouija tin! And I'd be more than willing to trade a Ginger tin for one (I've got 2 sealed Ginger tins). I'd purchase one, but I'm pretty sure I've bought enough "gadget crap" as my wife puts it, for a while. :) Besides a couple of Ginger tins, I have these an original style and a comm...

Re: Safe shutdown?

I'm in for one of these as well! But I do have a question though. Looking at the link that dryja123 posted, would that work as an on/off button? Or just as an off? It looks as though I could wire a tactile switch, or something small and similar, in place of the switch that the guide calls for. Am I ...

Re: Any advice to beginners?

Weller makes great soldering equipment. The reviews for that alone should tell you how good it is. A couple of my friends have that one and it's a great piece. I'm planning on upgrading to that one at some point in the near future. Instead of buying a fume extractor, why not work on your soldering s...

Re: Power Switches

Dont forget that China mail is officially the slowest mail known to man... 😂 Not sure about that. I ordered 100 of the thin tactile switches (because I didn't read the wiki page carefully) and the USB sound board on same day. The switches came from China and the board from North Carolina. I live in...

Re: [Gauging Interest] Presoldered Pi and LCD Trimming Service

I had a couple of ideas that I was curious as to Helder's opinion on: 1. Putting a multi-folded piece of paper under the pcb to help support the middle. Clamping the ends is a great idea, but it still looks as though there could be sagging between the pcb and the pi still. I thought that maybe wedgi...

Re: Any advice to beginners?

I would strongly suggest you practice soldering a few things cleanly before you tackle this project. To get started, pick up some perf board and start soldering wire to it. Once you've graduated by properly soldering wire, grab a junk PCB and start removing components and add the removed components...

Re: So it begins...

I'm still getting the knack of my 3D printer. A Monoprice Maker Select Plus. The guy who gave it to me (free is the best price ever!) recommended I print out the z-frame mods to help stabilize it more. I'd also want to make a housing box for it as my wife read up about 3D printers and isn't keen on ...
