Thanks, everyone for letting me know what's going on, I really appreciate it. If there is nothing wrong with my sd cards, then why does nothing happen when I pop them into my 3 b+?

You have to (barely) keep the tin cracked to keep a steady signal.

But I bet I could fix that if I drilled a nice hole next to the module
Edit: I did that and it works perfectly when closed!
