Source of parts for 2nd build
Thinking of doing a 2nd build on the cheap (since I have a few parts left over from the last build) and I have a couple of questions: 1. Does anyone have a source of the Yellow, Blue, Red, Green buttons for A, B, X, Y. I can find sets in each color, but I don't really want to order 4 sets to get one...

Re: Game Boy Pi 3 - 1UP - 1st Build [Complete]
Thanks a bunch, will try this. One more question, did you still have to put tiny cut pieces of glue inside your buttons to prop them up, or does adding these screws eliminate the need for that? I can't seem to cut the glue perfectly straight so the buttons are kinda angled. Have you tried taking a ...

Re: 1st Build (WIP)
Well its not that perfect, but I used a plastic cutter (http://www.homedepot.com/p/Plastic-Sheet-Cutting-Tool-GE-41/202038073). Basically drilled a small hole in each corner, a hack saw to cut from the corner of the original cutout to the hole and used a straight edge and the tool to score between t...

Re: 1st Build (WIP)
So just about wrapped it up. Reworked the power connection and moved the amp so things are a little cleaner there. Wired up the L and R buttons (still need to get some caps or something). Have ordered a headphone jack so that will get installed, wire in the mUSB charging socket and just have to figu...

Re: 1st Build (WIP)
Thank you, I will keep that in mind, it doesn't show in the pictures, but the amp actually sits at an angle (and will be secured) so is about 1/8" below the button PCB. I kind of screwed up, installed the power distribution block/jumper/connector thing before my package with the amp arrived, didn't ...

1st Build (WIP)
Started on my first GBZ build today (actually technically yesterday I cut/drilled the case). I2S Audio, GPIO input (thank you tinkerBoy) and pretty minimal else where. BW screen converted to 5V (removing 6 leg IC and soldering 5V direct to pin 6). I tried to minimize hot glue usage (only place it wa...

Brightness adjustment BW screen
Does anyone know if the brightness adjustment actually changes the backlight level of these screens? My brief look over the driver board and the GUI of the controls make it seem that its a fixed backlight and the adjustment for contrast, brightness, etc just control the actual LC. My plan is to dial...

Re: Attack of the (PCB) Clones
This debate is endless... You can provide the market with thousand of boards, people won’t be happy because they are too expensive. You can provide the market with hundreds of cheap stuff, people win’t be happy because they have no support or the design is crappy... You can provide the market whit ...

GPIO input and I2S Audio
So I am gathering my parts to start a GBZ project and I have a few questions: In order to reduce the budget and simplify things I plan on using GPIO input and I2S audio, couple of things: 1. I was originally going to use prerunnerseth's script for setting up the GPIO input, but some of the pins will...
