Re: GBZ build Playstation inspired

As it turns out the monitor board is toasted, started to smoke, unsightly smoke...? Looking for a replacement screen, but don't know if I should get the same one or look into other options. thought about going HDMI, but it is too costly to justify for now. Anyone that reads this has any suggestions?...

Re: GBZ build Playstation inspired

I started "proding" around with my fat fingers and the Adafruit powerboost is showing only 3.xxV at Output and it should be 5.xxV, battery is reading 4.2V.
powerboost is dead?

Re: GBZ build Playstation inspired

Help!!! I need an adult!!

So as I was playing today the screen (GearBest) simply shut itself off, I don’t know what caused it and even less where to start. I might desolder it from the Pi and try the GBz on a PC monitor just in case.

Any suggestions??

Looking good! I really like the way your screen bracket came out.

Re: GBZ build Playstation inspired

Update:

Received new and proper battery from Helder, it looks so nice I hate covering it!
The graphics sticker is upside-down due to the fact that the JST cable comes out from the bottom left side of the sticker.

Re: GBZ build Playstation inspired

not quite sure what kind of power boost you are talking about, but maybe you can attach a heatsink on it. for me it helped a lot reducing the cpu temp of my raspberry pi cm3. talking of which, with the power of this circuit board I'm able to play yet all Playstation games I own without any freezes ...

Re: GBZ build Playstation inspired

Managed to fix my R1 not being recognized. Still don’t know the actual cause, but i re-configured controller input and it is working. One thing i had not noticed because I hadn’t done any kind of extended playing/testing. The Pi/powerboost seems to get very hot and it freezes gameplay after about 30...

Ordered one for my build!
One quick question though... Do we have to switch the polarity to use with the Adafruit Powerboost?
