Re: Power boost/charger wiring
Mine is on her way so... I just need to wait... Though according to the pcb's density it could be pretty hard to cut I dont know much about electronic so I might take few moments to RE it :/ It would be impossible I'm guessing to cut and solder to a trace that small, I'm guessing the switch/mod wil...

Re: Power boost/charger wiring
180uA is pretty insane IMO so the best bet would be to cut the trace linking to the step up converter and replacing it by a switch... Easier said than done I know Here are some close up pics of the board, please note I've removed the usb 5v out plug with my trusty heat station :) I didn't think it ...

Re: Power boost/charger wiring
In this case, my bad. The best way to do that is to find out which part is the 5v booster and which one is the charger. Cut the trace between the battery and the boost and add a switch or any other way to handle the on/off and you're good to go mmm I'll prob see if someone else does the cut trace/s...

Re: how can i pull 5V off the raspberry pi 1 B to power a screen?
Why don't you just power it directly from the power booster/project board ? If you really want 5v from your pie just use a multi meter and probe the board for 5v.

Re: Power boost/charger wiring
So the wiring of switch battery would be something like this below, But instead of the 2 pin connector in the pic it would connect to the booster board's battery + and - , Then you would connect ground and positive from the 5v output from the power booster to the project board and power what you nee...

Re: Power boost/charger wiring
I only paid £2.19 each for my boards so I'm not really worried if I have to buy the Adafruit one I just wish someone would do a detailed wiring of this alternative board.....

Re: Power boost/charger wiring
Thanks, Yes I realize about shutting down emustation first as to not cause corruption on the SD card
The trouble with following wermys video guide is my boost board isn't a Adafruit one so I haven't got an (EN) pin on it

Re: Power boost/charger wiring
If you plan on using the graceful shutdown method, okay. But if you do not, you should wire the on/off switch (if you want to cut off the battery to stop it from being drained) between the battery and the Power Supply, not at the output. Sure, it is not much, but the Power Supply will still be powe...
