Re: [Pre-Order] Sign-ups for the CeMu Partner (Compute Module add-on)

I still have quite a lot of parts, boards, and other necessary equipment that seems to be going to waste. The first board worked, but I thought it was too big to fit well inside and that people wouldn't like that. After I did the redesign I couldn't get the new boards soldered well enough to test t...

Re: Gameboy Mk3 - RPi3 + DPI screen + RTC diy [WIP]

Have you finished the dimming feature? I would highly recommend using the contrast wheel to dimm the screen. Adds a lot to the Gameboy feeling. Since you already use a arduino its no problem to send different pot values as keypresses and assign them as hotkeys with triggerhappy. That's how I did it ...

Re: Gameboy Mk3 - RPi3 + DPI screen + RTC diy [WIP]

the manufacturer suggests using this backlight driver: http://www.buydisplay.com/default/led-backlight-driver-ic-chip-pt4110-in-sot-89-5-package It is easily controlled via PWM. Thanks for the tip. This driver is nearly perfect. Can run on batteries directly (2,7 to 5,5V input) and needs only a few...

Re: Gameboy Mk3 - RPi3 + DPI screen + RTC diy [WIP]

... Anyone knows if there is a 'correft' way to wire a digital pot to a boost converter for the screen backlight? I assume you use the display "LQ035NC111"? According to the datasheet the backlight needs 18.6V - 21.0V and 20mA. In my opinion you need a constant current, not a constant voltage sourc...

Re: [WIP] Gameboy Zero Classic

Very nice. I'm interested how you set up the dimming. I've got an upcoming build where I plan to use a similar screen. The Watterott display supports hardware pwm dimming by default via pin 18. All I did was hook up a potentiometer to the arduino, assigned 10 different hotkeys (ctrl+1,ctrl+2...) to...

@tinkerBOY I just noticed that DPI and SPI are two very different things and I am stuck with the worse option of them: http://www.watterott.com/en/RPi-Display-B-Plus

Re: [tinkerBOY] Game Boy Three - RPi3 and DPI screen in 24-bit mode [WIP]

Could you give some infos about the display refresh rate? I am using a DPI display in my current build and while I am avle to reach playable refresh rates they are still far from the ones I reach with composite or HDMI. I always wondered how Kite made his display run so smooth

[WIP] Gameboy Zero Classic with dimmable display

Here's my second take on the GBZ. This time I tried to go for a very vanilla Gameboy look, by maintaining the original screen lens, DC-in as well as the battery LED Here are the features: - Raspberry Pi Zero - Watterott 2.8" SPI Display with adjustable brightness via contrast wheel - Original bleach...

Re: Where To Find Cart Stickers?

You can very easily create your own stickers with your printer at home and some package tape. Just get some label sheets, print on them and then stick that tape over it for a glossy finish. Cut it out... and voila!
