Best 3D modeling software? (perf. for Mac)

I'm looking into creating and modifying STL files. Mostly to make custom parts and eventually making fully functional devices.

Since I won't be able to afford solidworks or any professional software.

What are my free options?

What are my cheap paid options?

Your input is greatly appreciated! TIA

Re: 3.5" Dalian Good Display

use something like the "gert666" which will convert the GPIOs into VGA (and you can set 320x240).. I think it should be obvious that the gert666 would not fit inside the case too. :/ I looked into it a while ago but it's not something that's viable since the higher resolution screen boards are alre...

Looks good Sota. I will be using the Pi3 also.

What will you be doing about the power issues? From what I've been reading, I don't think that battery + 1000c will be enough.

Also, what technique did you use to desolder the ports? It looks really clean!

That's good to hear. I've heard nothing but good things about the 1000c. Curious on how well the alternatives perform as it's just a fraction of the cost.

Powerboost 1000c vs BangGood/GearBest power boost

$20 - Powerboost 1000c vs. $3.17 - BangGood/GearBest 5v Power Bank Step-Up Boost Module

Anyone have experience with the Gearbest boost module? What are the Pros and Cons? Reliability?

TIA!
