Re: DirtyBeagles Build/Progress

Looks awesome man :) I will have most of the stuff the same (concerning the placement) so I already have a great picture about how mine will look :) Aaaa. I'm already 11 hours at work today. I so wish to get this Saturday or Sunday off so I can have some fun with the project. :) I'm thinking about t...

Re: Using cartridge slot for the Pi camera and additional storage

All the ideas are welcome. I've just shared this as an example to include Camera in the mix.

Pi Zero, newer version has the Camera connector. I'll be using Pi3 :)

Using cartridge slot for the Pi camera and additional storage

Hi guys. As my personal Gameboy project is going super slow. Hit a brick wall with a shitty screen that is god awful hot and takin it's toll on the battery I've had some (too much) time to think. Plus, working 10-12 hours a day for the last few weeks and the next... So, what I've decided on (the res...

Using GERT you don't loose the HDMI, but you get shitty colors. It's not "full fledged VGA". Cheap and small linux workable VGA out USB display adapters don't exist (pitty because it should work with resolutions around 640x480, 800x600x) Oh well.. :( I would also like to use VGA but it's a no go :(

Re: Taking the GBZ on a flight

I think with all this terror incidents and the politicians going crazy and using this as an excuse to push through some new surveillance laws, they might not be so glad about some electronics you built yourself. And you can clearly see that this is no original gameboy. So there might be the one or ...

Re: Taking the GBZ on a flight

I don't see the problem. Safety wise. Major phone makers had batteries exploding so it's not like you can be sure 100%. Also. What is really a difference between buying an 100 bucks chinese handheld gaming console with emualtors compared to this? Speaking about Europe here. Wouldn't take it to US pr...

Re: Cannikin's GBZ

About how long does the battery last? I did a test today: turned everything on, went into Super Mario World and just let the attract screen run with the sound up to a normal level. After about an hour I switched to Revenge of Shinobi on the Genesis and did the same thing. I got to two hours before ...

Re: Full VGA resolution (640x480) 3.5" display, composite in

Nope, any 5V connection on the control board is the same 5V so you only need to hook up one. I actually did end up coming OUT of the 5V GPIO on the Pi and it works great! Question on this. Do I have to do anything special is I connect the 5v and GND from the VGA to the pi0? I am having some strange...

Re: Full VGA resolution (640x480) 3.5" display, composite in

Does this add any benefit when playing games on retropie? I thought all the content was 320x240 ... if it gets up-scaled by this display, is the quality noticeably better than with a "normal" screen? If its not the display, but the pi0 that is doing the up-scaling, I wonder if it has a performance ...
