I would try water slide decal paper. I have used it on alot of joy pad mods and that. Just remember to get clear paper and the one to match your printer.

I used normal white spray paint on the the top then used some clear water transfer decals paper that you can print on for all the raspberry pi signs. I had an old black sky box laying around so I turned it into my new white console with matching controller lol

For me it looks perfect to keep it how it is and keep the screw hole due to button bashing and so on. I would look more into the the size of hdmi cables because there so many.
You may fine you have to pay more for the cable tho.

Can I ask are you powering it up like say the amozon fire stick as you can't power the pi from just the hdmi cable due to there's only about 50ma

All done and works really well.
I'm not sure about the back of the case if I like it or not but if I want to change it i can do it easy as i have screw terminals in the battery compartment and the only thing that is attached to the back is the buttons. Plus the buttons look good but it feels loose.
