Smoscar's GEM Build + DC Controller

This is my first Kite build and I have to say, I can't believe how straightforward it was. If I can successfully make one then anyone can. Tools used for the build: - Soldering Iron - Flux paste - Dremel - Exacto knife - Screwdriver - Pliers PCB & Pi https://ezway-imagestore.s3.amazonaws.com/files/2...

Re: OLED Screen question

If you backlight looks a little blue, then you're probably over voltage on the little led. Try a 10ohm resistor for the backlight, they only need 3.2v normally, so 3.3 direct does work, but can melt them! Thanks for the advise moosepr I ended up soldering back the resistor to avoid burning the LED....

I suggest using magnet wire and shortening up the wiring if possible
Thanks for the advice!

Any gauge in particular?

Smoscar's FrankenPi VMU [Progress]

Hey sudomod After watching wermy's video on Youtube I registered to the forums and was incredibly inspired with everyone's amazing work. I've always been interested in electronics but I had never done a project like this before so I thought I could start with this one. My idea was to build something...

Re: VMµ - Sega Dreamcast VMU Project

Hey wermy , I noticed on one of your IG pictures that the corners of a similar screen used for this project were shaved off a little bit (not sure if that one was used for this project or not) https://scontent-lax3-2.cdninstagram.com/vp/e997c5e0cdc18f9bf8ec465a2a4db218/5BF1DFDE/t51.2885-15/sh0.08/e3...

Re: OLED Screen question

Thanks TheKayneGame ! I don't know if there's a data sheet for the one I bought, I ended up desoldering the screen and components from the PCB. The multimeter then helped me getting their resistance and capacitance. It seems like the screen works fine with a 3.3 volts input. Without the resistance ...

That’s not an OLED screen, just a normal crappy lcd.
Oh my bad, to be honest I don't really know the difference between both.

Any ideas on the resistor, voltage regulator and capacitor question?

OLED Screen question

Hey guys, I just received a 1.44 inch TFT LCD and I have successfully connected it to the Pi using modprobe to send the framebuffer to the OLED screen. I am ready now to desolder it from the PCB but I noticed it has a resistor connected to the LED pin (possibly to prevent burning the LED out), a vol...

Re: VMµ - Sega Dreamcast VMU Project

Excellent work wermy , I can't stress enough how much you've inspired me to get into electronics. While I wait for the parts to arrive to give this one a try, I noticed I'm not sure how you put in the VMU connector :D . Do you happen to have some pictures on how you connected it to charge, rotate th...
