Re: My New PCB Prototypes

Hey, Dividion.. I notice that you have a jumper on the DMG button board to combine the L & R audio channels for mono speaker output. I'm wondering if adding resistors into the mix might be advised to prevent backfeeding into the L/R channels of the onboard amp? Not sure if there's some sort of prot...

Re: Game Boy Color Zero (GBCZ) *With Build Guide

On the SPI adapter, you can actually ignore the two pads on the right edge (CE1 and GND). They're not connected to the screen. I've got another version in testing that uses CE1 for fbcp-ili9341 (it's an alternative to fbcp which is supposed to improve the refresh rate, however from what I've read is...

Re: My New PCB Prototypes

I agree with what inifitLoop just wrote. I've tried a bunch of different variations. I normally stick some header pins through the GPIO holes to get a good alignment, and then start with the two USB pads, since they're the closest together. You want to make sure you don't see any of the Pi's green P...

Re: Renew the self athesive tape

Check out Wermy's build. He cut it as @LilTrublMakr described in his post, but I think he used a much cheaper tape.

Re: My New PCB Prototypes

Thanks.. So if I understand correctly: If configured as Toggle=4, Shutdown=4 (plus slow the polling) - Slide power switch off: initiates safe shutdown - Slide power switch on: turns unit on - Quickly slide power switch off & back on: toggle battery monitor If configured as Toggle=27, Shutdown=4 - S...

Re: My New PCB Prototypes

On the Ultra, GPIOs 4, 17 and 27 are all circled, so you should solder those. 4 is set as the "switch off" (or "shutdown") pin 17 is set as the "signal on" (or "keep alive even if the power switch is off") pin 27 is set as the "toggle battery icon" pin The two Safe Shutdown pads on the face of the U...

Re: My New PCB Prototypes

Oh, hey.. one other question regarding the charging plug. I'm guessing it's a 3.5mm barrel plug like the original DMG had. I've read that the original DMG charger had the polarity reversed compared to most other chargers. Is that the case with this, or can I just use any old 3.5mm charger -- maybe ...

Re: My New PCB Prototypes

If you want to make some pinholes in the top (so you can see the LEDs) there's a top LED drill guide also. It's not necessary if you're using a clear case. Which shoulder buttons are you using? In the last couple of builds I used the following: screen bracket button hole drill guide shoulder button ...

Re: [FOR SALE] New Power Boards, Button Boards, USB Components and More!

Will your GPIO Assist - Ultra work with a Raspberry Pi A+ or B+ Also, where do you ship from? Just noticed I hadn't replied here (though we've spoken since). As it currently stands, I wouldn't recommend it for a 3A/B+, because it'll get a lightning bolt. I think that swapping out the inductor (from...

Re: Aluminum GameBoy Zero build

Your build looks great...very clean. Which battery are you using? I'll be using the BW 3.5: TFT screen for this build. So the SPI screens are thinner than the TFT's? Seems like I read that the TFT are faster framerate but lower resolution whereas the SPI screens are better resolution but slower fra...
