I am using a pi zero w so I should be good there. Does some one have a good image of a usb port wired up so I can confirm I am wiring this correctly? google images has produced less than stellar results. I have not. I don't see why it would not work though. You will just be using 2 boards instead of one.

I had the same problem.what i did to fix it; Ground to the pi, Ive used a composite (rca) single shielded wire from vid1 and ground from lcd driver board to the pi tv out and the ground next to the tv out on the pi. Screen is perfect now with no fuzzy lines, just crisp. Good luck i can second that....

You need to use a keyboard for those screens unfortunately unless you use the keyboard hex to reprogram the board so it acts like a keyboard instead of a gaming pad. Is it typical for only the Dpad to work when I am not in the UI? If I try to mess with any of the retropie configs I cannot commit any changes because only the dpad works.

ok for all who stuck at the same point: I used a Linux Live CD (like Knoppix) and copied the roms to the mounted retropie image (USB Card Reader).
