Re: Power Bank Boost plate!

It would cost way too much to have a power boost shipped from adafruit to Canada, so I got a few of these and have never had issues. FWIW, most major metropolitan areas in Canada have at least one electronics supply store that sells Adafruit stuff. If you can do a local pick up, it's a lot cheaper ...

Re: Bigger screens?

Update, in case anyone's interested. Screen arrived yesterday (surprisingly quick delivery). I did a quick test with Windows first - it's supposed to be plug and play (with Windows) and... it was. Touchscreen set up automatically - just plugged in the USB cable and it found the drivers. Touch accura...

Re: [For Sale] Pre-stripped Raspberry Pi 3 model B

That looks so clean I would go so far as to say the ports were never soldered on in the first place. I'd say that's exactly the case. Those ports have never been populated. Special order from the factory? I know you can do custom orders through Element14 (if you order 3000+ boards)... And the speci...

Re: Bigger screens?

Good to hear.

Which version of the screen are you running? Is it the one that plugs into the GPIO, or the one that connects via USB?

Re: GAME BOY 1UP (Florian Renner concept)

Joysticks would take up extra space, and are useless for any of the gaming I'd want to do. I may add a second speaker, but I don't want to add a second set of holes, and I'm not sure how it'd sound buried inside the case. And, I could technically cram a Pi3 inside the design as it stands, but I'd ha...

Re: Battery in Canada

Another option is to buy locally. Most Canadian cities will have at least one electronics supply/robotics/maker store. Most will actually stock Adafruit or Sparkfun products, so you don't need to order the batteries at all. https://www.sparkfun.com/distributors https://www.adafruit.com/distributors ...

Bigger screens?

Does anyone have experience with larger screens for PiZero handhelds? I'm working on a GBZ-inspired build, but I'm designing my own case, and want a 4.3" or 5" screen. Bigger screen = better screen, right? :D Right now, I'm leaning towards a Waveshare 5" LCD (B) - it has decent resolution, runs off ...

Re: GAME BOY 1UP (Florian Renner concept)

Well I could, but he's doing a much more powerful machine that can emulate Wii games and play current Steam stuff. That adds a bunch of complexity that an RPi-based build doesn't need: Mine uses a Pi Zero, so there's no need for a fan. Since it's using a Pi Zero, it's limited to 16 bit games. So the...

Re: GAME BOY 1UP (Florian Renner concept)

How 'bout something like this:

I've been working on my own handheld build, heavily inspired by that concept. No cartridge, but the MicroSD is accessible on top. :D
