Hello All,
I'm ordering parts to run a Raspberry Pi in a Game Gear. I would like to use the GG's power board if possible. Several folks have managed to run a Pi 3 with good results including https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4Gqobm7bE0
The GG power board (https://console5.com/wiki/Game_Gear) can supply 5V, but I am confused as to what the amps will be. I would like to run a Pi 4, which requires 3A (https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/ra ... fications/). I will also be using a 3.5" LCD via HDMI and some of these can consume close to 500mA.
Will the GG power board be enough for my Pi & screen? What do I look for when reading the specs sheets in order to calculate amps? Do I need some sort of booster/regulator? My electrical knowledge is sorely lacking so any input is appreciated.
Also, I'm planning to add a few controls. Final count will be 11, or 13 if I try to set up a joystick. The Teensy 2.0 would be perfect, but it only has 12 analog inputs (https://www.pjrc.com/teensy/index.html). Should I just upgrade to the 3.2 or look elsewhere?
Thanks a bunch. I will take photos and post a write up if all goes well.

Re: Help With Game Gear Pi Mod
the GG board is 9v i think, so i believe that you will need to step it down to 5v to work with the pi. not sure if there'll be enough current to run everything, but it's possible
