Looking for Gameboy with 5inch screen rasp pi

Post by ArcadeLover » Sat Feb 17, 2018 3:26 am

Hi,
I'm looking for at gameboy clone with a big screen.
Anyone in here that have made this with a raspberry pi 3 and min. 5 inch screen ? Maybe with a small joystick.
I play Mame games like 1942, Bubble Bobble, Ghost n goblins, Wonderboy, Out-run etc.
I'm to old for a smaller screen

Have a nice day.

A 3.5” is the max you can fit ... did you make some research before thinking of a 5” screen ?

A 640x480 3.5” needs heavy mod to both the screen and the shell so unless you put the screen outside, a 5” would never fit... NEVER

Maybe you look for a PSP or WiiU case.

With the new 3D printing services it must be possible to create a Custom Gameboy clone where a 5 inch screen fits.

I have this gameboy clone https://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-GameBoy ... 2875969530 very nice product.

@Yaya I made lots of research with out any result :-(
@McGyver It must be a Custom Gameboy clone :-), the joystick is nice to have not need to have.

I know I could get a 4" screen to fit if it was 4:3 and somewhat square. But good luck finding one, I've been searching for a while now.

I've been following that thread recently, I have an idea of something to do with it. Just gotta find the time. It's really nice of people to actually be sharing that kind of work, it's extremely time consuming.

That's basically what I was planning to do. There's your answer, ArcadeLover.
