(IDEA) main board / hub?
i was thinking, what if there was a way to consolidate the wiring, and kind of save space... started wondering... is it possible, for someone to design a "trace" board.. where it would act as a power strip, and a bridge for all connections? essentially, enlarging the protoboard power strip, but with many other traces, like.. instead of having wires from the teensy run down to the pcb.. what if this board, would lay right on top of the screen controller board.. and you could bridge the teensy and pcb via the board.. this same board would have the power strip built in.. where you could solder all your 5v connections. you'd be able to solder all your usb wires to it too.

Not sure if you've seen @Helder 's work but is pretty similar to what you described.

Re: (IDEA) main board / hub?
def seen it, his work is great. but i meant like a central hub, just to limit wiring in the center. it would be a board where everything can connect to, like the powerboost would supply the power to it directly and all. pretty much, a bridge that youd connect everything to, instead of soldering direct. his pcb, would connect to the main hub, instead of wiring it to the power strip, and that hub would carry the traces up to the teensy or pi (to eliminate eccessive wiring)chiz wrote:Not sure if you've seen @Helder 's work but is pretty similar to what you described.

Maybe I'm misreading/misinterpreting your picture, but isn't that added more wires to solder? I go from teensy to PCB, using your picture I'd have to go teensy to center hub to usb

Re: (IDEA) main board / hub?
Essentially, we create this board from a dmg as a bridge. it would fit right on top of the monitor control board, line up all the usb, micro usb volume wheels in the right spots, eliminate the need for a separate power strip, the wires would be shorter all around (could even use pins?)
