Straight SPI to the ILI9341 LCD controller (that's built in to the LCD panel).

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean that my bootup was faster than normal?

Hey, I'm just passing by to tell you how excited/amazed/impressed I am about this project. Definitely looking forward for a DIY kit as soon as possible. Thanks you for the great work.

Best regards from France ;)

Are you using framebuffer copying for that screen? @Flavor

How did you set it up if not?

Just to add, I would absolutely love a DIY kit. Don't need a shell, unless they're modded shells, then maybe.

I've had the itch to make a GBA for a while and have been kinda stuck on sourcing parts and making custom parts is way over my head. But I'm sure I could throw a kit together (especially if you were to make a quick video or write up!).

Hey guys. I was out of the country for quite some time. I'm back now, and I put up a few GPA DIY kits for sale on the site at

@ill-tempered Yes, it's FBCP.

So what screen is that exactly? can you post a link and since the engineer is your friend I'm assuming it's Ryzee119?

Don't contact me about obtaining my board files (as you will not get them). If my Boards or PCB Kits are sold out, they will be restocked as soon as I can get them and there is demand for them. You can join the mailing list on my Website to be notified when they are available.

No, actually Ryzee119 and I had separate projects. I'm pretty sure I posted about mine before his build showed up. I don't know him other than talking to him about his build. His is similar, but his requires harvesting parts from a GBA where ours only requires a GBA shell (original or reproduction).

We use a 3.2" ILI9341.

Also, I wanted to mention that we are considering doing pre-orders to get this next batch moving along a bit quicker.
