Re: WII U RASPBERRY PI 3 FINISHED
Anyone following this thread I have incorporated the on/off circuit into the circuit board with the power and TV buttons. VeteranGamer should have prototypes being tested in a week or so once he has the boards and parts and he will share our work with every one here.

Re: WII U RASPBERRY PI 3 FINISHED
I have the boards in hand.....

but I'm waiting on a few more parts that need to be added to it, so that the On/Off function can work....
but on the plus point....
the board fits and proving everything else works....
we should be go to go in the New Year...

will update, hopefully soon....

How are you guys powering the LCD Screen and Raspberry Pi from the Powerboost 1000C? When I power it on, I get the lightning bolt icon, as if the Powerboost can handle both at one time.

Re: WII U RASPBERRY PI 3 FINISHED
You need to get Helder Retro PSU (no lightening bolts)
(But this is really for LiPO battery, you may be able to use 18650... but I’d double check with Helder about that)

As well as a on screen battery monitor....
With the Home Button board he’s designed, you’ll have On/Off (with safe shutdown) from the Power button....

Re: WII U RASPBERRY PI 3 FINISHED
what are all the tracks on the back of the pcb?
VeteranGamer, i wait your news, for a long time I have this project but still delay by GBZ projects.
I can have this PCB ? OSH ?
Big thanks

Re: WII U RASPBERRY PI 3 FINISHED
It's for the missing parts, it'll all be explained once Veteran Gamer has a complete board built to test. Basically it powers the Pi and LCD once the button is pressed and is kept alive with the TX pin then when the Pi is turned off the TX pin goes low then cuts power to everything (battery can still be charged in this state).
If there is an issue you can always do a forceful shutdown by holding the power button for 3 seconds with this board and one of the extra buttons can be used as a safe shutdown connected to a GPIO to initialize that option (the AllForOne software for my PSU has built in low battery shutdown too).
I'll post the files on the github or Veteran Gamer can as well, it's going to go public so no worries about it being a big secret.

Re: WII U RASPBERRY PI 3 FINISHED
So I started out using the Powerboost 1000C, not realizing it had enough amps to power the Pi 3 and LCD screen. I was following the Lipopi Guide (Power On/Off Version) and it was working great. I tried using the same Lipopi schematic on the Retro PSU, but it seems like the Retro PSU takes a higher resistor (1 Million Ohms) to keep the Enable pin grounded instead of the Powerboost (100K ohms).
When I hold the Push button down, the Pi boots up, but it immediately shuts off after I release it. I'm thinking that 1M Ohm is just too much resistance, but anything less, and the Enable pin stays on. Does anyone have a workaround for using a Pushbutton with their Retro PSU?

Re: WII U RASPBERRY PI 3 FINISHED
Hard to diagnose something that no one is using besides you, the Enable pin is pulled high on the Retro PSU with a 10k ohm resistor and if you ground it then it shuts off so not sure of this schematic you're talking about or how it works. Links and pictures of these unknowns help us to help you.
