Djobbydjobba, so sorry for the delay -- I had notifications set to "On" but I don't think I was receiving them, so I didn't realize anyone had replied to me!

Thank you for pointing out that the diagram was missing a ground wire! This was a complete oversight, and I can't remember what my headspace was at the time, but I think it was supposed to be connected like this below, to Pin 6 (I have also updated the original post, to keep people from making wiring mistakes if they refer to it).

In reference to your other question about why the Teensy is connected to the protection board, it's probably just a function of me being either inexperienced with drawing diagrams, or with wiring, or both. I infer from your question that, in theory, I only need to connect the protection board to the battery cells, and the Teensy only to the battery cells, not the protection board. For my cells, I'm using these holders shown below, so each has a wire coming from either end, so I couldn't figure out how I could attach both the protection board and the other stuff to the cells at the same time without kind of wiring the cells and the protection board all together (as if they're one integrated battery). Do you have any recommendations? I am a n00b, so simple language or a visualization would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi there. Just a question : Why is your teensy connected to the protection board ? And your diagram lacks a ground to the Pi... otherwise seems good to me 👍

Hello everyone! I know this project was started years ago and hasn't been active for quite a while, but I have been interested in making this Wii U Gamepad Portable for forever but am just now getting around to really researching into making one!

So, that said I have a few questions. Hopefully someone will be able to answer them!

First I want to make sure i have all the correct circuits and parts that I need.

Battery Circuit
RPi+LCD > Helder's Retro PSU > Wii Button/LED Board > Battery > Micro USB Port
I could be missing a component and a circuit diagram for a setup using Helder's RetroPSU would be much appreciated!

Audio Circuit
RPi > Audio DAC > Pot > Audio Jack > Amplifier > Speakers
This one seems pretty straightforward, except for the Choke Filter. I wasn't able to find the correct one on ebay, so if someone could provide me with a link to one (in english preferrably), that would be great.

Parts List
Now I want to make sure the parts I picked out will all work correctly. (Items in bold are items I need a link to or think may not work with this build.)
- FPC Adapter https://www.ebay.com/itm/2pc-10P-FFC-FP ... 3369234588

- Audio DAC (I lost the link to this one so if someone could give me a link that would be great)
- Audio Amplifierhttps://www.ebay.com/itm/PAM8403-Mini-2 ... 1850041529
- Pot https://www.ebay.com/itm/5PCS-20K-Ohm-B ... 2663666906

- Tac Switches https://www.ebay.com/itm/12pcs-Tact-Swi ... 1976655580
- 8-pin Mosfet for Wii Power/LED Board https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pack-of-5-SI45 ... 3387121501
- 3-pin Mosfet for Wii Power/LED Board https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pack-of-14-SI2 ... 3461425694
- Other thing for Wii Power/LED Board https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pack-of-14-SI2 ... 3461425694
- Resistors and Capacitors for Wii Power/LED Board (Not sure if these will work or not) https://www.ebay.com/itm/1206-0805-0603 ... Sw2VpfD90A

- Planning on using a RPi 4 (assuming the new models work)
- LCD Screen, I have one I bought a while ago that is meant for 12v so i'll have to see if it runs on 5
- Teensy https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NC43256/?c ... _lig_dp_it
- HDMI Cable https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-15cm-HDMI- ... 1611322122
- Retro PSU https://www.heldergametech.com/shop/gam ... /retropsu/
- Battery (I want to use a 3.7v, 6000mAh battery but can't find one that will fit this build. If anyone has a link that would be great)

Is there any parts that I'm missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated so I can purchase all the parts ASAP!

Hi
The stl for the mounting board was removed. Could someone reupload the stl for the board that mounts all the components? Thank you

I am a newb when it comes to electronics, but I have a working Wii U with the raspberry pi with working controls and power via the RetroPSU. I am still waiting for the components to finish the home button board that Helder created. My questions are, where can I get the MintyBatteryMonitor script, how do I install the script, and where do I connect LED 1 for the home light? The previous post says anywhere, but not really sure what connection will supply the correct power.

Check the first post in the MintyPi forum: viewtopic.php?f=33&t=3472
When you follow the link, there's a link to the full retropie image, and the setup files. It says the setup script still needs to be updated though.

The front page of sudomod.com also has a link to the MintyPi 3.5 files: https://sudomod.com/mintypi-v3-5-softwa ... stl-files/ but the first link above points to v4 rather than 3.5.

The Mintybatterymonitor used to be on HoolyHoo's github page. It looks like it's gone now. I just checked the mintyPi setup script too and there's no mention of the battery monitor, so I have no idea what happened to it.

Anyone found a decent screen that matches the stock size? I mostly abandoned this project because I could not find a screen. There are several 2k screens that are a nice fit but they cannot be changed to landscape unless raspian to boot into and then change the display settings there. I haven't tried in over a year though so things may have changed?

Hi,

i just started with the wii u mod. Parts are mostly here. Display controller is faulty and i´m awaiting the new one every day.
i use a 6.2" display from aliexpress:
https://de.aliexpress.com/item/40007984 ... 4c4dnYyV4m

The screen size is almost the same as the original screen. i thought about using a newer 6" 2k screen, but they are a little bit to small.

i think this screen boots up in portrait mode. can be changed with a running system.

i was able to source a faulty wii u zelda edition controller and start to implement the teensy an solder all the cables:

Batterys are also on the way to me. i use 3 x lipo, each with 3000mah, they will fit directly to the back of the display. i will post some more pictures when next steps are done.
