@banjokazooie

How comes the screen ribbon cable comes out on top of your build?
Did you mount the screen upside down or do we have different models?
Mine is 6.5 inch AT065TN14 800*480. It is upside down as the bottom edge of the front cover is thinner.
True, it fits much nicer this way. One moe question though:
How did you rotate the screen? putting

Code: Select all

display_hdmi_rotate=2
into config.txt won't change anything, further when I try to check on the param with

Code: Select all

vcgencmd display_hdmi_rotate
it says

Code: Select all

display_hdmi_rotate is unknown
what am I missing?
You don't need to use software to rotate screen. LCD has build in OSD menu with all option available you can change with the attached buttons.

Is it safe to assume Lipopi and all the scripts still work with the new Raspberry Pi 3B+ model?

It still have the same GPIO ports and runs same linux distribution. Lipopi is just a python script so no issue here.

Another concern...is it necessary to add resistors to the gamepad speakers so they wont get blown out with too much volume?

Don't worry, pam8403 is only 3W no need for any resistor. ;)

nice project i'm trying to do it by my self, i'm gonna use a battery bank has power supply, (i already test, it turns the raspberry on, powers a 0,5a stuff to simulates a screen, a speaker, and a xbox controller) i still don't have the screen but I gonna use a 5inch raspberry ready, it runs for almost 3h, i'm gonna do more tests when the screen comes, what you guys think of my project?
i have a little question, can I use the audio jack of the raspberry besides the usb dac sound card, and connect that directly to the amplifier?
and than to control the volume use this? http://produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB- ... volume-_JM
other thoughts, Teensy is to expensive here in brazil, I was thinking of use a wired xbox controller (without the rumble of course) and put every button in its place, do you guys think it will by too hard?
whats the specs of this Headphones Audio jack with automatic speaker disconnection? i could not find here
Look at this on eBay

FC68133 Socket Jack 35mm female stereo switched PCBs CLIFF

Hi banjokazooie and all,

First of all : nice job ! I have a question : how did you deal with this non-square panel (AT065TN14) to get a non-deformed image ? What's the trick to obtain a 1:1 ratio on RetroPi ?

You can set it through Retroarch with some black bars on sides.

I believe everybody that decided to do the wii u handheld had to dig and search a lot to get all information needed to start (concluding or not) this project.
In the first page of this topic there is the name of all important parts that you have to find on places such amazon, ebay, dx. Com, aliexpress and banggood. Even so, most os the links may change because supplyers/sellers change the products ad all the time.
YouTube as well can give some idea of this project. Just type wii u retropie and will show lots of options.

So again, go to the first page, starting searching on ebay and amazon and if you can't find determinated part you can still ask here where will be plenty of people that will help.
