@wermy
I found out that phpbb support lots of weird characters for username that other programs doesn't support, like @
I think it will be good to limit later registration to 0-9 a-z A-Z and _

Re: The sudomod Wiki is up!
Thanks, yeah I was just reading about that. As far as I can tell though, underscore is allowed in MediaWiki usernames -- I'm testing it out now.1461748123 wrote:@wermy

Edit: Ok it is definitely the underscore causing it. I just tried with a test account and got the same "invalid username" error. But it's weird because according to their documentation, underscore should be fine for usernames as they don't explicitly exclude it: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$ ... Characters
I'll keep digging.
@crispy_tofu Unless I can find a solution to that, it looks like you'll either have to make a secondary account, or I can edit your username for you to remove the underscore. Sorry about that. :\

I'm assuming that you are using LDAP, here is the solution
I think this might be the problem.MediaWiki replaces underscores with spaces in usernames

Re: The sudomod Wiki is up!
I was able to login, just used my forum credentials just like you mentioned. I do have an edit tab in the upper right hand side of the screen, and I can edit if I so choose (didn't have anything yet to contribute).wermy wrote:@Kilren it shows you as having logged in. Did you have any issues? Are you able to make an edit?

Re: The sudomod Wiki is up!
Ah, that's a shame. I'll probably make a secondary account to make edits on the wiki, I kinda like my underscore.

Re: The sudomod Wiki is up!
Yeeaah sorry about that. :\ MediaWiki automatically turns underscores into spaces in some cases. I did some debugging on the extension I'm using to connect phpBB to MediaWiki, and that's what is happening here. The weird thing is when I modify the extension to replace spaces with underscores, it still doesn't work. So I dunno what's up. I'll keep digging, I'm sure you won't be the only one affected by this.crispy_tofu wrote:Ah, that's a shame.
