Spinner speed

So after a lot of work I got my GS spinner working in my Arcade1up cabinet - but it it is slow as treacle.
In Arkanoid it works, but too slow to be playable. I have changed the Analgue speed up to 200% but it makes no difference - is there something else I can try?
