Retropie working on the 3.5" PiTFT from Adafruit

[RELOCATION FROM GENERAL FORUM TO RETROPIE SPECIFIC FORUM]

I'm having some problems getting my TFT display to work on my gameboy-zero. I have followed the instructions provided for the smaller brethren of the 3.5" TFT linked here--https://learn.adafruit.com/running-open ... opie-setup--but I still get a white screen. The only thing i changed in this tutorial is I set the resolution with the hdmi_cvt=480 320 60 1 0 0 0 instead of the resolution provided for the smaller displays.
Has anyone got any experience with this issue and would like to help a guy out? Thanks!

On the step that has you add this to your config.txt:
dtoverlay=pitft28-resistive-overlay,rotate=90,speed=80000000,fps=60

Did you do pitft28? That might not be correct since you're using the 3.5" one. I'm not sure though, all I have is the 2.8" one.

Thanks for the reply @wermy !
I did actually change that part too, I just forgot to mention it in my post. I believe where you see the "dtoverlay=pitft28-resistive-overlay,rotate=90,speed=80000000,fps=60" I changed it to " dtoverlay=pitft35-resistive-overlay,rotate=90,speed=80000000,fps=60".
Alas, the screen still doesn't boot up. I'll keep investigating this more and post whatever works for me if I can figure it out!

Here is what I did for mine to work:
dtoverlay=pitft35-resistive,rotate=90,speed=64000000,fps=60

no pitft35-resistive-overlay
no pitft35r

Let me know if I am too late to this party.

I had a white screen issue too. Turned out my ribbon cable was loose. Just tightened it up and problem solved. Whew...

I've got the same issue here: "white screen on booting".
Already tested with 2 different TFT models, with no success. Both with Retropie and Recalbox.

Anyone's got an answer for that?

Thanks a lot

These screens stay white (only backlight) when switching on/booting up, as soon as the Pi enters Raspbian the driver kicks in and fires up the image on the display, mostly halfway of the booting. idk if you can fire it up before that. but this is what i experienced. (it would be interesting to find out what pin's are hsync and vsync or rgb and composite. if you figure this out, you can have it ''always on'' yet bypassing the gpio to vga mode/dvi/rgb/composite whatever
