Save states in Gameboy Advance Emulator

Maybe somebody has an idea: Retropie, standard Gameboy Advance Emulator. I do not know the exact name in the moment.
My Problem: After restart a previous saved gamestate the games starts very laggy, unable to play. Just after a games reset, thus staring the game by zero I can proceed this game. For me, save game states in Gameboy Advance are not working! Do anybody has an idea about this issue?
