@Camble Yeah I've got no worries with soldering to the port connectors, just trying to work out how to get the thing off the board in the first place! (No through board anchor points!)

I'd say the same as you programm the other boards with the same chip.
Just adjust for the right pins.

@Fleder I took a look at the Arduino ISP as well at the ATTiny manufacturer's version, and it's all a bit daunting! Having zero experience with Arduino based systems I'm going to have to start from square one and follow some basic tutorials, but good to hear that the chips all work in a similar fashion!

You just need to make sure the Arduino IDE is set for the type of chip you're using.

Ok, pretty much at the end of my tether here! I've been trying to get the ATTiny 167 / Digispark Pro to work all day, and most of last night. I'm beginning to grasp the basics, but every time I try to push even a basic blink sketch to it, the connection times out with a flash write error.

I can't work out if I'm doing something wrong, or if the driver install is to blame (every time I try to install the four necessary drivers, one of them fails. Looking online it seems to be a common issue, and ends up with communication errors). Already managed to wipe out all of my PC's USB ports trying to get the bloomin' drivers to take!

Unless anyone can suggest anything, I may end up binning this thing and getting a Pro Micro clone instead

I will get one of those and see if it is a certain method you have to use
to get it to work or if the problem might be on your side.

It may be a few days/weeks before i can say something about it, though.

@Fleder I do apologise for my little outburst, think I was a little too tired at the time!

I hope you have more luck with it than I did. I'll probably hold onto my Digispark for future projects, and use a Pro Micro for my current build. Hopefully they'll fix it the driver issue soon as I'm 99% sure that that's the cause.

Wait, which version of IDE did you use?
You have to use the Version 1.6.5 or it will most likely not work at all.

Try this one and see if it works.
Do not use the blink script as the boards might not have the LED on the same pins.
Use something like echo or key input so you can see if the board is sending a keypress into your notepad for instance.

Initially tried with 1.6.5, during board selection in the Arduino IDE it begins to install the drivers, and one driver fails. No joy there, so uninstalled everything and tried 1.6.7, for which the instructions online suggest to install the drivers manually from a separate download package, but again the same driver fails to install.

I'm running Windows 10 on my PC, but I do have a little mini PC that still has Windows 7. Will try from there later in case it's some kind of incompatibility.

Hi, can someon tell me how to conect the pi zero to the Pro Micro board? or do i have to conect it trough the usb? where do i connect the D+ and D- to the board?
