@GASMAST3R You can use any other BCM pins, just remember to change the power monitor script.

hy i have make it @ main Page
Once you've built the circuit, add the following line to /boot/config.txt. This will keep the JFET off while the Pi is powered.
Code: Select all
dtoverlay=gpio-poweroff,gpiopin=22,active_low="y"
Steps:
• Open /boot/config.txt
Code: Select all
sudo nano /boot/config.txt
• Scroll down, there should already be a #dtoverlay entry.
• Type the new line of text.
• Press Ctrl+X to exit, hit Y to save and press return.
• Reboot your Pi.

I made a simulation of this circuit.

You can see that the keep alive signal prevents the power boost from shutting down

@myPiZero My favourite web-based circuit simulator.
Good job!

Many thanks for the guide. I was just wondering if this could be used if you decided to just power the pi off the mini USB port connected to a mains socket?Camble wrote:This guide explains how to build a very simple graceful shutdown circuit to your GameBoy Zero. It assumes you are using the Adafruit Powerboost 500C or 1000C.

Re: [Guide] Graceful shutdown switch without Pololu
@Treguard I must have misread. If you power the Pi directly from USB, it will be constantly powered. If you connect micro USB to the PowerBoost (which it has), the shutdown circuit will work as intended. Basically, use everything through the PowerBoost and you'll be fine.
