Seeing as I cannot obtain that C2G HDMI power inserter, I simply just tried the first one I could find on eBay. It turns out to be identical to the one Odissine showed images of, with the power already going to both ends on pin 18. Now, what happens when I use the adapter unmodified like that is weird: When I use an external (2A) USB phone charging adapter the Pi Zero will flash the rainbow screen, then shut off and turn back on, flash that rainbow screen again, etc... It won't boot at all.
Now, if I plug the USB lead of the adapter straight into my (non-smart) TV the Pi will actually boot, until getting to a certain point in the boot procedure and then rebooting itself.
Using an actual USB lead straight to the USB power input on the Pi makes it work just fine; what's going on here? Should I cut the TV side of the adapter's pin 18 and put the diode between USB positive and that pad and hope that it works? I still haven't received the diode yet and I am sadly out of 1N4448 as well.

Had an idea to use an extra snes controller to house a screen a speaker and a battery and hinge it to the top and make a ds style portable. what do you think?

Would any of you guys be brave enough to overclock your pi zero in this thing? No room for cooling, really...just curious if it would be wise or not.

Mine's already running 59°C at stock clocks with a 24°C ambient with the controller case still open.. I wouldn't try, really.

If you're in the US i would say it runs about a week. if your international it can be 2-4 weeks.

I'm a big noob at all of this stuff; do you ever think you'll make a full video guide? I'm very interested in making this.
I'll be sending a board to Wermy and he is going to make a video.

What happened to that video?

I ordered this cable https://sudomod.me/hdmi Don't have my pi yet but I think the connector to the pi is going to be to big. I will keep everyone posted.

I ordered the same one, then realized it may not fit. At least not stock.
