I now have a Pi3 and I have validated what I can test out. The ethernet looks like it has a filter and is blocking my tests.

There does not seam to be pogo pin test pads for the SD card slot

I think it would be easier to retain a proper connection without interference using one of these.

Don't really know what the symbols mean. What test pads are for power input

PP1 and PP2 are your 5V in.

So I'm looking at PP35 and PP7 for my +5v internal line. I noticed that PP35 is after the polyfuse (changed from the previous 5v 1.1A fuse to a 16v 2.5A fuse) and before something that seems to act like a diode but I'm not entire sure of its purpose... prior to TP7 which is the "usable" internal 5V line.
My question is what is the new circuit intended to do that sits between PP35 and PP7?
I'm currently using an external regulated power supply on GPIO pin 2 (with a 5v 1.1A polyfuse prior to it). This has suited my cluster for all the Pi 2+ boards. But I'm starting to upgrade my cluster to Pi 3's and wanted to know (besides the fuse size change with is irrelevant in a cluster case) if there was something else that had to be added to the daughter cards that passed power up and down the stack.
