[NEED HELP] Smoke from wires / screen

Post by eddypoke » Thu Sep 29, 2016 3:45 am

So I have got my screen. It was apperently a BW 3.5 version 2 screen according to the wiki. I tried connecting it to my pi, and the wire becomes very hot and it even starts to smoke after a few seconds. Obviously the screen isn't working either.

I don't have pictures at the moment but I can provide if nessecary. I did the wiring on the pi the same as wermy in his part 3 of the guide.

I did kinda fuck up at the wiring for 5 volt, having solder a bit all over the place, and I suspect that might be the case, but before I jump to conclusions I would like to hear if any of you had this problem or know what I can do with it.

Thanks in advance :)

Seems like you have made a shortcut somewhere.
I guess, what has smoked is fried.

Definitely sounds like something was shorted out.
