PiGRRL 2.0 Kit in a GameBoy Case

Post by TigerClaw32 » Mon Oct 10, 2016 3:06 am

Hi,
did someone built a Gameboy "Zero" with this kit: https://www.adafruit.com/products/3014 ?
Is it possible to use this kit in a original gameboy case?

without looking at all the dimensions, I would say those are off.

- Screen is smaller (2.8 inch compared to 3.5 inch)
- tactile switches
- button placement

Thinking it takes more work to make this fit, than buying an AIO board from Helder (or else) and buying the rest of the kit yourself

Yes, but i can take this smaller screen and replace the pcb with the gameboy zero pcb.

I think it's easy with this kit because the tft display is via SPI and you can connect the buttons directly with the tft-GPIOs. You don't need teensy and you don't have this big composite-display-board.
