Nintendo DS C-Stick in Gameboy Zero Build

Post by nod2121 » Tue Apr 04, 2017 10:00 am

I'm getting parts together to take another stab at making a Gameboy Zero.
This time I'm gonna be using Kite's SAIO Board.

I was intending to have an analog stick on one of the builds but I'm not to much of a fan of the look of a lot of psp analog sticks out there.
I personally really like the look of the Nintendo DS C-Stick. I was wondering if it would be possible to hook up the C-Stick in place of an analog stick?
It seems to have the same functionality of an analog stick, it's just smaller. Unlike with psp analog sticks, I can't find a wiring guide for the C-Stick so I'm not sure how I would even go about hooking it up...

I wanted to know what everyone thought.
Good/bad idea?
Pluses/negatives to using the C-Stick over an analog stick?
Have any leads on how to wire them up?
Aditional thoughts?

Sounds like a good idea if you prefer the style.
Here's a pinout i found:

This seems to be a wiring guide for the nintendo ds analog stick, not the C-Stick :P
Whenever I look up wiring guides for the C-Stick I end up coming across these ones for the analog stick or I just find more pictures of the C-Stick which doesn't help either haha

Ah ok. I did a search for c-stick and got a picture that looks just like the pinout portion of that one saying it was c-stick. Then found the pinout pic that matched...

That image shows how to replace the GameCube analog stick with a slider from the 3ds. If you are to look up how to connect a regular analog stick and then use that diagram to substitute the slider, it may work.
