Possible Powerbooster Alternative?

Hoping someone a little more electronic savvy could jump in on this one. Would this be a cheaper alternative to the PB1000c?
It would still need to be able to simultaneously charge and play. I know it doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but what is realistically lost using this compared to the PB1000c?

LiPo Charger

@prerunnerseth

Edit: I forgot the actual link to the product. Dur!

No Boost converter. Won't generate the 5V needed by the Pi Zero.

Yep, as @prerunnerseth said it looks like this one does not have a boost to the required 5v, so you'd either need a second board for that or to find another one that has it. I know I saw one... I'll try to track it down.

Alright, here's one that looks like it should work, though it is quite a bit bigger than the Adafruit PB:

Edit:
and another: http://www.amazon.com/GERI-Mobile-Charg ... B00VDPNJ4K

And another: http://www.amazon.com/GERI-Mobile-Charg ... B00VDPNJ4K

I only took a quick look and I of course haven't tried any of these, but they look like they'd work.

Thanks for input. It seems that the PB is the best choice. I'm fine with that, but it is nice finding alternatives that are more readily available. Adafruit seems to constantly be out of supply

The one@wermy linked would work too. I hope to have mine with the power management for sale within a few weeks.

Hi,

I have a couple of those, bought from Aliexpress. They were cheap but it doesn't solve our needs to charge and play at same time. That module only charges the battery, no boost. You have to buy a bost to get the 5v. But even so, for my experience, the results aren't the best. I tested with RPi3. I could get the 5v to run the pi and charge the battery, but not at same time. This results were using the cheapest modules from Aliexpress.

It would be helpful if you could post the link to this cheap module.
