In used original snes buttons. They look just a little bit smaller than the dmg ones.

The buffalos measured 9.95mm and the GB buttons were 10.05mm No enough difference to make a difference.
I could have sworn that the GB buttons were 10.5. I'll measure again! :D
I bought a non oem shell that was suppose to be same spec. It's possible that they're smaller.

i also bought a replica shell, and its a bit smaller. when i put the controller pcb in, on the left, the tab that goes through the hole to hold it in place, is significantly shorter than the original one as well.

Did anyone try to use DualShock 4 buttons instead of SNES or Game Boy?

the china clone snes pads have buttons which not fit.
so, get an original snes pad or cloned DMG01 buttons. they fit!
