Hello all,
I just ordered a kit from one of the project pages as a way to start in this hobby.
My question is can i use flux core solder or should i go with the separate flux and solder combo for a kit like the null2 kit.

flux core is fine on its own most of time. you can also use extra flux sometimes if you want or need it, to ensure a better connection, but there isn't really a need for solder that doesn't have the flux core.

Thanks for the answer what temp are you normally using for these projects?

I would recommend flux pen as well. Makes things cleaner.

i think that depends on your solder actually, but typically I use a 60/40 flux-core, and set my iron to 350, and (as far i know) that's pretty standard.

definitely agree on the flux pen - it's a lot easier and cleaner than using other stuff.
